Wounded Md. Police Officers, Suspect Airlifted after Shootout
Two Maryland police officers were airlifted after they were shot Friday by a suspect who also was wounded in the exchange.
The shooting happened just after 12:40 p.m. when Frederick police responded to a report of a suspicious man with a gun along a section of the city known as the Golden Mile, the Frederick News Post reports. Once the officers reached the scene, the suspect opened fire.
Gunfire struck two officers, and the suspect also was shot. The officers and the suspect were flown to a shock trauma center in Baltimore. Their conditions were not released.
